Our story

A social app that knows who you are

Thakurs gives the Rajput/Thakur community an Instagram-quality social app that also understands clan, lineage, and region — so content, groups, and discovery feel native to the community, not generic.

Clan-first, not clan-only

Groups for your kul and thikana are built in — suggested when they help, never a directory anyone can browse.

Private by default

Vansh, kul, gotra, kuldevi, and thikana are opt-in. Never inferred, never required to sign up.

Community-verified

Real samaj and thikana admins get a verified badge and moderation tools, so official pages are easy to trust.

Mission

An app that feels native, not generic

Most social apps treat community as a topic to browse, not an identity to understand. Thakurs is different: posts, follows, stories, and DMs alongside clan and thikana groups, a dedicated heritage feed, and verified samaj admins — so the everyday and the ancestral both have a real place.

None of that means your identity is exposed. Vansh, kul, gotra, and kuldevi are opt-in and private by default — there's no directory, no search by gotra, no feature that infers who you're related to.

Why now

Clan and samaj associations already run active WhatsApp lists and Facebook pages — just without verification, moderation, or a real feed underneath them. We're building the platform to give that work a proper home.

What guides everything we build

These principles shape every product decision, policy, and community conversation.

People first

Every feature is designed around genuine connection, not time-on-app.

Private by default

Identity details stay hidden until you choose to share them — and only with whom you choose.

Community-led

Verified samaj and thikana admins keep official groups legitimate, not a spam target.

Heritage, preserved

History, genealogy, and festival content get a dedicated space, apart from the everyday feed.

Safety from day one

Every surface ships with its reporting and moderation hook in the same release — never retrofitted.

Built for the diaspora

Ancestral region and current region, both on your profile — so distance doesn't mean disconnection.
